Villagers of a mountain village on the Black Sea move to the highlands with their herds for the summer, passing through wild paths with only terrifying rocks on one side. The incredible struggle of women who defy the relentless rain, fog and wild mountains in the majestic peaks of the Kaçkar Mountains.

We see them first on the Komati Plateau at an altitude of 2000 meters and then the Büyük Kaçkar Plateau at an altitude of 3500 meters and then on their sad return by the same road with the autumn rains. The documentary “Life on their shoulders” follows these women and their lives as they continue these difficult journeys and life in the mountains, carrying the burdens on their backs for centuries.
